Meet My Family

Suzi: I am a wife and stay at home mom. I absolutely love and am so blessed to have the opportunity to take care of our daughter and our home full time. There is nothing I would rather be doing! I am able to watch Alexys grow, watch her learn, love on her, discipline her, always be there for her, etc. There is so much that I can not wait to teach her as she grows up. (Yes, I plan on homeschooling :) ) I hear people say all the time that they wish they could afford to stay at home with their children. For me, it's not a matter of affording it. It's about setting our priorities and giving up things that are nothing compared to the benefits our family gains from me being a stay at home mom. So most of my time is spent with Alexys whether it be going to the playground, reading books, coloring, etc. Otherwise, I mostly just love spending time with family, scrapbooking, or reading a good book. My current goals that I'd one day like to achieve are becoming fluent in sign language and learning how to knit and knit well (more than just scarves!)

Jayson: My amazing husband since July 24, 2009. We have been through so much together in such a short time. We lived in El Paso, TX for a year when we got married. Kansas was our next stop for about 7 months. And now we are back in west Michigan, where we are both from. Jayson currently works full time at Gentex and is also taking part time classes at GRCC.  He isn't decided on his major yet.Hopefully soon he will be able to go full time to get his degree out of the way and onto bigger and better things! He doesn't have much free time, but when he does he likes to play pool, watch movies, or sit around a fire with family or friends. His goal is to one day own a business of his own and to have a small family farm.

Alexys: My beautiful baby girl born on November 18, 2009. She has beautiful curly, strawberry blonde hair and big blue eyes! She is SUCH a character! She is LOUD and independent but still has her sweet moments of cuddle time and kisses! She doesn't ever sit still for very long. She loves dogs, bubbles, going down slides & play-doh. Oh and she LOVES to dance, whether it's to music on the radio or to her teapot in the middle of the living room floor! Even if she's in the car, she'll throw her hands up in the air when the radio gets turned on. She LOVES pop, marshmallows and almost any straight sugar, but doesn't like cookies and brownies too much. She's just getting the hang of going on the potty & I couldn't be more proud of her! She has a lamb that she takes everywhere, it's the filthiest thing you'd ever see!

Baby Girl #2: She is due on November 14, but hopefully coming much sooner!....This week would be nice :) I will put up pictures and more about her when she decides to make her arrival..We couldn't be more excited! Unfortunately, I can't even tell you her name ;)

Our family together: We love God and want to serve Him in all we do. We have had lots of trials but are always trusting Him to carry us through them and to provide every need we have.(Some trials are more trying than others but He has always come through for us!) We want to live out our faith for our children & others to see. We want to love & serve those around us. We want to be involved & invested in each other's lives and people around us. Community is so important to us.

We want to have a large family one day, *hopefully* at least 6 kids. (Jayson will say at least 6 biological kids) We also want to adopt a child (or more?). We really have a heart for Reece's Rainbow (check them out if you haven't already!) and hope to adopt a child with Down Syndrome through them sometime in the next few years..hopefully before we are 30. That's our plan, God's plan may be different but we hope it involves adoption through Reece's Rainbow at some point! In the meantime, I will be trying to raise money & awareness for children needing families so desperately.

I am sure I could find a lot more to write about my family, but that could start to get excessive! Maybe you knew most of this, but hopefully you learned something new! It was fun to write and brag about my family a little bit :)
